For our OWN IT 2023, we hosted our first ever OWN IT Weekend, which consisted of both a conference and festival. After a year of growth, attendees were encouraged blaze the trail and Burn Bright.

Maggie Krell
Maggy is the Special Advisor to the California Attorney General. She is an admirable woman who has a significant amount of accomplishments!
To elaborate, Maggy Krell is an attorney who has dedicated her entire career to seeking justice for vulnerable individuals. She took down the largest human trafficking website in the world, fought against immigrant family separation during the Trump administration, and served as Chief Legal Consultant for Planned Parenthood of CA.

OWN IT FESTIVAL
The first ever OWN IT Festival was introduced in during 2023 own it weekend under the theme Burn Bright. The Goal of festival is to encourage attendees to connect to their mental health, and create a welcoming environment to help distract from outside stressors. It consisted of live entertainment, food trucks, a marketplace, and workshops

There have been several different workshops, some of which was yoga, meditation, pot painting, and self-defense.

The market was full of student run organizations, along with several local vendors. The vendors sold things from jewelry and nails to clothes and crotchet goods.

The line up for entertainment consisted of solo performances, DJs, dance teams part of UC davis, and a local band.
